Meet our Founder and Chief Visionary Officer
Brittney Alexandria Smith
Hello and welcome! I am Brittney Alexandria Smith, the Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of PEARLS (Positively Empowering and Restoring Ladies Self-Esteem, Inc.). As a woman raised in the city of Cleveland, my purpose is to cultivate unapologetic authenticity and connection, driving our mission to deeply impact the lives of young girls across Cleveland and neighboring areas. Beyond my roles as a dedicated community connector, youth advocate, and mentor, I live my values through traveling, volunteering, running, and proudly serving alongside my sorority sisters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. We are thrilled to have created the PEARLS experience—a powerful space where every young girl is empowered to simply BE. Welcome!
Our Story
Since 2020, PEARLS has been a dedicated anchor in the Greater Cleveland area, focused entirely on the growth and nurture of our young women. Launched at the height of the 2020 pandemic, PEARLS was born from a simple but powerful truth: the urgent need for safe spaces.
Our call to action was to support girls from non-traditional backgrounds and underserved communities, ensuring they had places where they felt valued and protected. Starting with school and community programs and our beloved PEARLS Girls Closet, we have been privileged to serve over 3,500 girls. This dedication has earned us recognition through awards, media features, and foundational grants, but our greatest achievement remains the trust and confidence we build every day in the heart of our community.
